President of Argentina: I have never received money from LIBRA team

What does Argentine President Javier Milei need to do to protect himself from pressure from opposition parties and investors who have lost money from the LIBRA memento?

The LIBRA scandal is putting Argentine President Javier Milei in jeopardy as several major U.S. law firms, including Bruwick Law, say they are preparing a class action lawsuit against him.

At the same time, the opposition in Argentina is also considering impeachment proceedings, accusing Milei and his team of helping crypto companies involved in hundreds of millions of dollars of fraud.

The company directly involved in the scandal, Kelsier Ventures, was discovered not only to be behind Libra but also to be linked to many other memenoin projects. In a recent interview, CEO Hayden Davis tried to downplay the severity of the incident, arguing that memento is inherently a high-risk investment and that there are “a lot of conflicts of interest” in the industry. He also revealed his company used to be involved in MEMECOIN MELANIA, the project that involved former US First Lady Melania Trump.

Data from Bubblemaps shows a link between the wallets holding MELANIA and Libra, raising the question of whether Kelsier Ventures is deeply involved in Donald Trump's memenoin project. However, there is no evidence to confirm this yet.

Under pressure from public opinion, President Javier Milei officially defended himself in an interview on TUGO news, insisting that he was only sharing information about Libra, not promoting or profiting from it.

He also denied that 44,000 investors were affected, saying the actual number was only about 5,000, mostly professional traders from the US and China, not Argentines. Milei stressed that this is a private matter between individuals and that the participants are well aware of the risks of memenoin.

He also said the reason for sharing Libra was because Hayden Davis' idea involved creating a financial support mechanism for tech startups. However, Milei admitted that after the incident, he realized he needed to raise standards and limit access to the public, because he was no longer the Javier Milei he once was, but now a president.

While the Libra scandal has not subsided, a source revealed that Kelsier Ventures is partnering with the Nigerian government to develop a memento coin on the Solana blockchain. Nigerian President Bola Tinubu was not directly involved, but several members of his team were involved in the exchanges.

This project has reached a fairly distant stage of development, but with the Libra scandal erupting, the chances of its implementation are almost zero. A number of other countries have also been approached by Kelsier Ventures to participate in this model of memento issuance, raising concerns about an organized model of memenoin issuance on a large scale.

Given the latest developments, the likelihood of Milei facing litigation or formal investigation is high, while plans to deploy the memenoin with Nigeria are also at risk of collapse.
