How much USD does the community expect the PI price to reach at listing?

Authors

PI pricing is currently the most discussed topic. How much is the right price, $3 or $30?

Pi Network is about to be listed on major exchanges such as OKX, MEXC, Gate.io, Bitget and HTX. Recently, Binance has also held a surveyask users if they want the PI to be listed on the exchange. This has raised many expectations about the price of PI when it officially trades.

Some predict that PI could reach a high price, while others are more cautious, arguing that the listing price will depend on many factors such as liquidity, supply and token distribution strategies.

Based on MarginATM's Moonsheet, the predicted price of PI ranges from $0.01 to $2.24, with the maximum being compared to LINK. If this price is reached, Pi's market capitalization could reach $13.5 billion. However, these are only hypothetical models based on coins with strong liquidity in the market.

Meanwhile, the reality of OTC trading in Vietnam shows that PI prices are being bought at around 50,000 VND (~$2). Some accept the sale of PI at this price, while others retain expectations of a higher price at the listing. This reflects the difference in views between groups of investors, one wanting to take profits early and one side believing in long-term potential.

Some analyzes also indicate that liquidity will be the determining factor to the price of the PI on the exchange. Listing on major exchanges does not mean that prices will remain high if there is not enough buying demand. In addition, the amount of PIs that will be unlocked in the near future, including the number of tokens allocated to the exchange to support liquidity, could create certain selling pressure.

A recent post on the X platform caught the attention of the Pi Network community for offering candid views on the expected price of PI ahead of the listing. From the point of view of @Ezedavid1994 users, it is unrealistic to expect high prices without considering liquidity.

The article raises the issue that even large exchanges are unlikely to be able to secure enough liquidity to maintain prices as high as many expect. The person also stressed that a large amount of PI will be allocated to exchanges to support trading, and that the Pi Core Team (PCT), after six years of project development, will likely seek to realize the value of the assets they hold. This means that there will be significant selling pressure as soon as PI is listed.

In addition, the author also mentions that pioneers who have moved assets since 2022 will have a large number of PIs unlocked this year. Unverified balances may also begin to be moved in the near future, increasing supply in the market. In this context, users argue that if there is no long-term vision, then it is best to think carefully before investing in PI.

According to @Ezedavid1994, if a user buys PI for between $1 and $3 and expects the price to rise sharply as soon as it is listed, then it is unrealistic. He thinks the actual price of PI could be much lower than the $3-$10 expectations that many pioneers are setting. At the same time, @Ezedavid1994 warns that those who buy PIs at too high a price in the OTC market may be at risk if the list price does not reach as expected.

The article also analyzes that more than 60 million PIs have been transferred to Gate.io, but there is no exact information on the total circulating supply at the date of listing. This can lead to large price fluctuations in the early stages. At the same time, he insists that regardless of the list price, Pi Network is still considered a successful project with more than 60 million users, nearly 20 million KYC pioneers and more than 10 million active mainnet wallets.

As such, the posts on X emphasize that the PI price will be decided by the market and not by the Pi Core Team. It is unrealistic to expect a special mechanism to maintain high prices and avoid selling pressure.

Instead, Pi Network participants need to be prepared and have a long-term vision to avoid unrealistic expectations that can lead to disappointment when listing. At the same time, if PI's survey on Binance qualifies this exchange to list PI, it could also be a good condition for future PI price increases.
