What is Eliza?

Eliza is a modular architecture for developing AI Agents that seamlessly interact with users and blockchain systems. Inspired by the first chatbot that appeared in 1966 also named Eliza, the 2024 version of Eliza is a redefinition of chatbot with breakthroughs in design and interface.

Confused with ai16zeliza

The story begins with AI16Z, a parody AI meme fund according to the famous venture capitalist Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). This project was created by an anonymous developer with the goal of using AI to invest in memenoin, helping investors “sit cool and eat a bowl of gold”.

The ai16z team then created a chat bot named Eliza to act as a chat agent, interacting with users on X and Discord. Eliza quickly rose to prominence and was likened to the mascot of the ai16z community.

At the time, the community thought the team could create an agent-based ELIZA token to attract liquidity and attention. However, AI Partners of ai16z, Shaw, has voiced no intention to create a token and is completely comfortable if anyone wants to create an ELIZA token themselves.

ai16zeliza was later launched with ticker eliza written on vvaifu.fun (a memento creation platform like pump.fun), which also quickly reached a capitalization of $50 million on Nov. 19.

However, Shaw later turned the wheel and created a new ELIZA token, which was considered the primary token for Eliza's agent and supported by ai16z. ELIZA also airdrops 10% tokens to the first eliza holder. The event immediately caused Eliza to be sold in a panic and made ELIZA the trademark token of Eliza's agent.
